The seat

I was originally going to make the seat by first making a foam version then using that to make one in fibreglass, however I discovered that the cost of the fibreglass was more than buying a seat. Then I found this one on Finn and I decided that it is not only much better than anything I could make but cheaper too. I me took some measurement of the frame and drew it to scale using GeoGebra. I then imported it to Algodoo where I compared the frame to the drawing of the seat.

The red lines are the existing frame and the blue ones where it should be to accept the seat. I think that all I need to do is cut and bend. I also superimposed the seat onto the bike frame.

I think the dimensions are pretty perfect. The only tricky opasrt will be to weld some new support struts sine I will have to cut away the strut that goes from the body of the frame to the end of the seat.
